Make Your Mark Art Course
Make Your Mark is a free art programme for autistic, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists in Sussex.
The course has six workshops. You will meet artists, arts organisations and access workers. They will share useful information about working in the arts. You will be introduced to local organisations like Figment Arts & Level-3 productions.
You will learn about:
Finding funding and ways to earn money
Making your art accessible
Working in the arts as an autistic, learning disabled or neurodivergent person
Building confidence and connections
Each workshop also includes time to make art, try new ideas and develop your own creative work.
During the course, you will make a simple plan for your future. You can choose your own goals and decide what you want to do next.
The course will end with a week-long exhibition at Colonnade House in Worthing. Everyone will have the chance to show their work and be paid £250 for taking part. Local artists and arts organisations will be invited, giving you the chance to meet people and make new connections.
You do not need professional art experience to join. You just need an interest in making art and developing your creative practice.
The programme is designed to be supportive, welcoming and accessible to autistic, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists.
This project is funded by the Arts Council National Lottery Scheme.
