Make Your Mark Art Course
Make your mark is a free creative development programme run by and for autistic, learning disabled and neurodivergent artists living in Sussex. The programme aims to support emerging artists to develop their creative practice while building confidence, connections and a clearer understanding of how to create a sustainable career in the arts.
Across six workshops, participants will meet local artists, arts organisations and access support workers who will share practical and honest insights into working in the cultural sector. Sessions will explore topics including finding funding, generating income, making creative work accessible, and navigating the arts as autistic, learning disabled and neurodivergent creatives. Alongside these conversations, each workshop includes hands-on creative activities, giving participants dedicated time to experiment, make new work and develop their own artistic practice.
Throughout the programme, participants will create a personalised roadmap for their future, identifying opportunities, setting goals and exploring realistic next steps for their creative careers. The course is designed to demystify the arts sector, helping participants build knowledge, confidence and connections within their local creative community.
The programme will culminate in a week-long exhibition at Colonnade House in Worthing, where every participant will have the opportunity to exhibit their work and be paid to do so. Local artists, arts organisations and creative professionals will be invited to attend, creating opportunities for participants to build meaningful relationships and explore future collaborations.
Accessible Art Club is open to emerging artists who identify as autistic, learning disabled or neurodivergent. No professional experience is required—just an interest in developing a creative practice in a supportive and accessible environment.
