Infographic & Virtual Reality experience - Junk , a youth production company
As part of the Brighton Digital Festival, I collaborated with one of the leading virtual reality artist, Simon Wilkinson. He is an owner of youth media company, Junk. The project was about creating an interactive VR piece aimed at disabled people. Based on my speciality, I chose to create infographics about Scottish myths. I aimed to create a piece of digital art demonstrating how illustration and virtual reality can be used for helping business engage with their audience.
What was the process of finding the best form of illustrations to integrate with virtual reality?
During this time, the overall idea was to promote virtual reality as an accessible and professional tool for everyday stuff. In this case it was about making data and visual information accessible. As seen above, the digital designs are kept simple. VR is still at its early stage. One of its shortcomings is making the art look clean as possible. Older Oculus Rift lenses pixelated the art to the point of making it illegible. To accommodate this, I only used a simple colour palette and style.
